UNPASTEURIZED MILK AND MILK PRODUCTS: Pregnant women should avoid consuming unpasteurized milk and milk products like soft unpasteurised cheese, cream etc owing to risk of growth of ‘salmonella ’and ‘listeria’(bacteria). Listeria is a group of bacteria that may cause potentially fatal infections to pregnant women and their babies.

Eating a balanced diet with good quality protein, fresh vegetables (preferably cooked) and fruits helps in good foetal growth and smooth pregnancy.
